Cricket is the only most popular sport in Pakistan among all others sports. Pakistan’s electronic Media completely biased towards cricket when promoting a sport. Pakistan’s nation praises and follows the cricket stars and likes to watch and follow cricket.

Pakistan’s electronic media is not covering the others local sports. They have been only targeting the international sports and on air the international level sports and games. At this time there are only two sports channels those are taking the responsibility of prompting the local level sports in Pakistan and able to find time to air the local sports. There are only two sports channels with the new variety of entertainment channels which bring the hope for the promotion of local sports. PTV Sports in the national sector and Geo Super in the private sector. These channels brought a ray of hope for the general public. Their sole priority are to earn money rather than promotion of sports on Pakistan.

With the Pakistan’s glory past in sports we must have to keep an eye open for the future and take some good steps to achieve more in sports in both local and international levels. There are many talk show programs on air in these sports channels of Pakistan’s media that reminds us the glorious past of sports in Pakistan but with a lack of strong contents like other countries sports channels (Sport2, TEN Sport, ESPN, ChannelSix) to retain the viewer’s attention.

Pakistan needs a revolutionary thinker like Najam Sethi who introduced Pakistani talents globally with the help of well-known league PSL (Pakistan Super League).As we knows there was no more international cricket in Pakistan for the last 9-10 years. Najam Sethi created the stage and brought the international cricket back in Pakistan through PSL league.

Globally, Sports in Pakistan have no successful future because Pakistan is far behind in different sports like football, tennis even we are getting worst in our national game Hockey. Hockey is our national game yet it’s constantly ignored by our sports channels and sports federations. Sports channels should take the risk and praise the tournaments of different sports and games in school and college, urban and rural sectors of Pakistan.

Now a days Politics is also involve in Pakistan sports like politics interfering with selection matter and more so, which brings some kind of worst situation between officials think this is also the main reason Pakistan is far behind from many global events. Pakistan has been success in many global events but today, we cannot and not able to even qualify for the Olympics games.

Our current sports channels have ability to find the potential from the hidden stars. Our country filled with talented people. Only need to give them platform and they will be stars of Pakistan and whole world like our others icons (Shahid Afridi and Jangir Khan).
